Turkey ‘will work’ to calm tension over downed Russian jet

Cizre co-mayor taken in custody

DİYARBAKIR (DİHA) – Co-mayor of Cizre has been detained by police in Diyarbakır. Co-mayor of Cizre, Leyla İmret, has been detained by police in Amed province late Wednesday afternoon. After being taken into custody near Cegerxwin Cultural Centre in Kayapınar district, İmret was taken to Diyarbakır Police Headquarters. The detention came after İmret’s discharge from post by the Ministry of Interior during the period of martial law in mid September.
